In The News
The Jeffersonland Chorus is prominently mentioned in a recent article in The Daily Progress about how the arts benefit communities and lift spirits. Sam Morgan, one of our members, is interviewed and discusses the meteoric rise of a cappella singing on college campuses, how we are reaching out to the community for both membership opportunities and performances and how the Chorus is modernizing and is therefore an opportunity for recent graduates to continue singing.
The Busy Holiday Season
The Chorus is in demand around the holidays. We're providing festive holiday songs in the a Cappella Barbershop style. Look on the Events/Shows page to find out where we'll be.
Here we were at the City of Charlottesville Grand Illumination along with other acts like the Virginia Consort and the UVA Virginia Gentlemen.
It was a great event with an enthusiastic audience. Thanks to the City and the sponsors for making it possible!
Harmony for All Ages a Hit!
Nov 17, 2016 was a return for the Chorus to the big stage. The program was filled with old classics like Down By the Old Mill Stream and featured more modern tunes like Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans and even original compositions by the Chorus members. Attendance was strong and the feedback about the show was heartening. We'd like to thank the UVA Women in Medicine and Science, St. Anne's Belfield School, our Supporters and our families for making it all possible.
The Chorus Appoints a New Director
Scott Seki, our outstanding present director is stepping down in January to return to the Chorus as a vocalist. The Chorus thanks him for his tireless efforts over the last year. He is excited to turn over the reins to Gary Bibens. Gary comes to us with an impressive musical and Barbershop résumé.
